Mark leverages his 40-plus years of experience helping clients with litigation support in the areas of commercial damages, eminent domain, IP, family law, and franchise disputes. Among the industries he has worked with the most include real estate, hospitality, franchises and the franchise business model, and technology among others. As a qualified expert witness, Mark works within several state courts, the U.S. District Court, and Bankruptcy Court across the country but is focused primarily on the Southeast.

Oftentimes, Mark helps clients through transaction planning and execution and, when it comes to franchisors and multi-unit franchisees (MUFs), advises parties on the development and improvement of business models to enhance opportunities for successful outcomes. His background includes serving as CFO of US Franchise Systems, the franchising arm of Global Hyatt, from 2000-06. His extensive experience includes providing planning, feasibility, exit strategy, operations, and capital formation services to the food and beverage, lodging and resorts, and recreation industry segments.

Mark is a 1973 graduate of the University of Vermont, Burlington, VT. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and is accredited in appraisals and forensics from the AICPA (ABV, CFF designations), the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (CVA), and the Institute of Business Appraisers (ABAR).
